Budapest immediately captivated us upon our arrival on the first day. After checking into our hotel, we set out to explore the city. Andrássy út, Budapest’s Champs-Élysées, greeted us with its grand buildings and vibrant street life. The State Opera House was an impressive sight and a fantastic photo opportunity. We then headed to St. Stephen’s Basilica, where the strenuous climb to the dome rewarded us with breathtaking views of the city.
From there, we strolled to the majestic Chain Bridge spanning the Danube. In the evening, we made our way to the Castle District. Taking the funicular up to Buda Castle, we enjoyed cocktails with a stunning view of the illuminated city. The Royal Palace and Matthias Church provided a fairy-tale backdrop.
On the second day, we visited the Hungarian Parliament Building, with its Gothic architecture and magnificent halls leaving a lasting impression. Next, we dove into the vibrant atmosphere of the Great Market Hall. Here, we sampled langos and bought some local delicacies. In the afternoon, we relaxed at the Széchenyi Thermal Bath, one of the largest thermal baths in Europe. The warm waters and stunning architecture offered both relaxation and excellent photo opportunities.
A walk along the Danube perfectly rounded off the day. On the third day, we visited the Museum of Fine Arts, admiring its impressive collection of artworks. Afterwards, we strolled through City Park and visited Vajdahunyad Castle. The tranquility of the park and the natural beauty provided a pleasant contrast to the city’s hustle and bustle.
In the evening, we once again enjoyed the Castle District, wandering through its narrow streets, which exuded a particularly romantic atmosphere at dusk. Budapest enchanted us with its impressive architecture, rich history, and warm hospitality. The blend of culture, relaxation, and stunning photography made this trip unforgettable. We leave the city with many beautiful memories and countless photos that will remind us of these wonderful days.
